Summary of Treatment

Portrait of Peregrine Marquess of Lindsey
by Charles de Agar
Oil on canvas, 1717

The unlined painting had been badly torn and was covered in thick layers of dirt, varnish and retouchings.
It was decided to line the painting with a transparent lining material to allow the inscription on the reverse to remain visible.
