The song is a farewell lullaby; accompanying an old WW1 veteran as he approaches his final hour. The message of the song, is about how easy it is to stir the blood of a nations people and manipulate them through propaganda and lies, which in WW1 led to the calculated and condoned slaughter of tens of millions of soldiers and civilians – at the whim of their ‘betters’. And for what?

“…this spine-tingling single is sincere and something to be proud of….feels refreshing compared to the watered-down pop world. A sort of guiding light within the hazy production of mainstream music.”

“A beautiful song that I recommend to everyone… The song is full of passion, the guitar arpeggio won me over already from the first moments when the fingers began to pluck the strings… The voice intervenes with its high timbre that rests on this sweet melody like a veil.”
Inspired by the words of Harry Patch (1898 – 2009)
A conscript who fought at the Battle of Passchendaele in 1917.
“Passchendaele was a disastrous battle—thousands and thousands of young lives were lost. It makes me angry… To me, it’s a licence to go out and murder. Why should the British government call me up and take me out to a battlefield to shoot a man I never knew, whose language I couldn’t speak? All those lives lost for a war finished over a table. Now what is the sense in that?”

Chris Mariotti of Edgar Allan Poets “A beautiful song, a melody that stays in my head for a long time after listening to it but above all for some reason this music put me in a good mood and gave me hope and energy and somehow relaxed me.If you want to spend 3 great minutes hit play and go and listen! Magical and Relaxing!
Yannick Mirko of POPFAD “It’s a blend of power pop, alternative,/indie rock, and soundscapes that you just don’t want to miss, a journey you’d feel left out from if you didn’t listen. …we hear the emotions come through the melodies, engulfing us fully in an incredible and fanciful world of peace and love. The moon is love, shine on.”
Adrian Prath of BerlinOnAir Harmoniously sophisticated and full of fantastic psychedelic elements and trippy vibes….stylistically very different from the music you hear on the radio every day, but that’s exactly why it becomes really interesting. We particularly liked the creative polyphonic implementation in the chorus, which literally lit up and made it shine with wonderful harmonies. Just great! Be sure to check out this incredibly cool and lively track on Spotify for yourself

A FEW REVIEWS
“As soon as I hit the play button I was immediately struck by the artist’s voice. A timbre that communicated freshness and innovation. Real, no frills sounds that go straight to your bones and tickle your soul. A sincere rock, direct able to make you walk the streets of London with an irreverent attitude, songs that bring out that rock spirit that you have in you” EDGAR ALLAN POETS
“With a completely mesmerizing voice, Life Express explodes in well-designed arrangements and becomes a beautiful Rock and very high level Roll. The power of his voice is totally enchanting…. The search for musicality, intelligent and creative elements, elaborated by an extremely qualified and daring musician, is confirmed in the works elaborated by 1.0.8. which happens to be my best musical discovery this year.” ROADIE REVIEWS – Brazil

Nicole Mendes – NEXUS MUSIC BLOG
“The message of ‘Life Express’ has been translated into song so well, it makes one wonder where 108 has been hiding. What I know is that I want more of this uplifting and eccentric sound and hopefully that’s exactly what the album will bring”
MUSIC FOR THE MISFITS
“108 knows how to write a classic song, and ‘Life Express’ is no exception. Andrew Stewart is emerging as an artist to watch in 2021. He is pushing boundaries and making inspiring music. We are so excited to see that ‘Life Express’ is the first of a four track EP to be released later this year and we cannot wait for the EP to drop.”
“108 had us playing his last EP on repeat as we got lost in the vocals. At times there is a delightful rasp to his performance that drives the brilliance of life into your chest.“
