108 Fine Art Gallery is delighted to invite you to ‘Art in Conversation II,’ the second instalment in our Summer exhibition series at 108 Fine Art Gallery. This exhibition features two contemporary artists, Izzy Thomson and Bob Bicknell-Knight, recipients of the Andrew Stewart Award. Both artists work with diverse disciplines, from painting to film and animation.
Izzy Thomson and Bob Bicknell-Knight, although working in different mediums, share a common theme of exploring the interaction between the physical and mystical worlds – whether that is through the real, digital or imaginary. Izzy’s work reconstructs landscapes through painting, illustration, and animation, while Bob examines digital realms and their societal implications through hybrid paintings and interactive installations. This exhibition brings their works together, highlighting their unique perspectives on our rapidly changing world.

Honouring diverse disciplines, the selection for the Andrew Stewart Award in 2023 was thoughtfully curated by the 108 team and a distinguished panel including Bill Hare – Honorary Fellow and Emeritus of Edinburgh College of Art History of Art, Jane Winfrey – Picture Specialist, and Kristian Day – Independent curator. We are excited to exhibit new, diverse works by Izzy Thomson and Bob Bicknell-Knight, in association with the Artists Award – a tribute to our co-founder, Andrew Stewart.
