Art in Conversation I: Exploring Olga Konoshchuk’s Artistic Journey
An Interview with Olga Konoshchuk
Welcome to our latest installment of the “Art in Conversation” series, where we speak with artists to discover their background and life as an artist. In our recent video interview, we had the pleasure of speaking with Olga Konoshchuk, a Ukrainian artist whose journey has been shaped by her creative upbringing and cultural heritage. From her early years in a creative family to her current life in London, Olga’s story is as inspiring as the art she creates.
Early Influences
Olga Konoshchuk shares a story of growing up in a creative family, where an easel stood in her childhood bedroom, making her journey as an artist seem almost predestined. Surrounded by art from a young age, Olga was deeply influenced by her family’s artistic environment, which laid the foundation for her career.
Educational Journey
Olga’s exploration as an artist was further developed through her studies at the Ukrainian Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, where she specialised in Fine Art. Accredited as a professional artist and a member of the National Union of Professional Artists of Ukraine, Olga’s formal education provided her with a solid grounding in both abstract and figurative styles. Since the age of 16, she has exhibited widely in prestigious Ukrainian and international exhibitions of contemporary art, showcasing her impressive collection of abstract and figurative canvases that present the striking colours, themes, and vistas of her international travels.
Life in London
Now working from her London studio, Olga discusses the balancing act of painting while managing life as a parent. Her experiences in London have added new dimensions to her work, blending her Ukrainian roots with the vibrant and diverse culture of the city. This fusion of influences is evident in the richness and depth of her paintings.

Olga’s work is deeply rooted in her cultural heritage. In our interview, she explores how her Ukrainian background influences her art, infusing her pieces with a unique blend of tradition and contemporary expression.
