Painted on top of an Edwardian period landscape, circa 1900/1910. The earlier painting had been turned onto its side before being overpainted.
Elements of the earlier painting in the form of a gate, fence and roof of a house can be seen in the bottom left corner.
The painting has recently been lined with old losses filled and retouched along the top and bottom edges of the painting.
