Kenny Hunter studied at Glasgow School of Art from 1983 to 1987. Known as one of Scotland’s leading contemporary artists, Hunter’s work is heavily influenced by plastic toys; in the colours and flawless finish he uses for his sculptures. He sees this as related to classical sculptors who worked with marble until no marks from their chisels and tools could be seen.
Hunter exhibits widely in the UK and internationally and has created a number of high profile commissioned works. His work can be found in numerous public collections including the TATE Gallery, Scottish Museum of Modern Art, Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow.
