In 2004 Joash Woodrows first public art gallery exhibition was held at Leeds City Art Gallery, followed shortly afterwards with highly successful retrospective exhibitions at Manchester Art Gallery, The Ben Uri – The London Jewish Museum of Art, The Royal College of Art, and at University art galleries in Liverpool, Hull and at Leeds Metropolitan University. Three books on the artists work have now been published and paintings and drawings have already been acquired by significant public and private art collections.
In order to extend the number of works available to the public, the family of Joash Woodrow are now looking to donate a group of works on paper to museums and galleries in the UK. We are now inviting interest from public institutions, who would be interested in choosing up to three of Joash Woodrows drawings for their permanent art collections.
The works below represent a cross section of the artists drawings from the early 1940′s through to the 1980′s.
