“I had quite a nostalgic trip to Berwick upon Tweed in July to see the “Anne Redpath & her circle“ exhibition of the Fleming collection at the Maltings. Anne Redpath was the mother of my tutor David Michie & head of drawing & painting during my time at Edinburgh College of art 1987-1990. There is a lovely portrait of David Michie & one of his paintings in the exhibition. After seeing the exhibition I walked down to Berwick upon Tweed light house – an iconic focal point from train journeys to Edinburgh. Then travelled by bus along the Northumbrian coast to explore & draw in Craster.”
