Gillian Stewart
Gillian originally trained in woven textile design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, gaining first class honours and a travelling scholarship, before receiving a distinction for her post graduate studies in Textiles at Edinburgh College of Art. She worked as a successful textile and mosaic artist, and was employed for many years as a textile and footwear designer for a leading UK designer and manufacturing company.
Before launching 108 Fine art in 1997, Gillian lectured at multiple establishments around Scotland & the North East. Since then, she worked with Andrew to build one of the best independant art galleries in the North.
As a director at the gallery, Gillian works on programming all aspects of 108’s activities and runs a dedicated team with the family on the founders principles.
